Is it your passion to educate others?
Dr. Rosie Kakkar, Kumon Preston West
The new Kumon Preston West Study Centre has opened, and will offer Kumon’s unique maths and English programmes to children of all ages and abilities. Established for over 50 years across more than 45 countries across the globe, the programmes enable children to develop their study skills and confidently tackle advanced work.
Additionally, the centre is creating employment opportunities for young people in the community to work as Class Assistants.
Class Assistants have a passion for education and the development of children, and support the Instructor at the centre in all aspects of delivering the Kumon Maths and English Programmes at the Preston West Centre. It provides an excellent opportunity for young people to gain valuable work experience in teaching and learning thus enhancing their employment potential and contributing to the city of Preston as a whole.
The city of Preston prides itself on being a Living Wage Employer, and the Preston West Centre will ensure that the claim is upheld.
Through the maths and English programmes, Kumon nurtures your child’s independent study skills, so they can apply this approach to all subjects and outside of school too. Kumon develops children through the acquisition of independent learning skills, rather than teaching in the conventional sense. Your child is therefore equipped with the ability to learn for themselves so they do not become dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.
Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – again ensuring that the material each one encounters extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability. This kind of individual differentiation is a unique benefit of the programme and makes it an effective complement to the school curriculum.
Over 70,000 students study at more than 650 study centres across the country. Kumon Educational is the UK’s largest supplementary education provider.
I am thrilled to be the Instructor and can’t wait to welcome local families to the new Kumon Preston West Centre.
