Preston Guild Hall Set To Launch UK’s First-Of-Its-Kind Entertainment Complex
Preston Guild Hall is preparing to take the city to the next level, with the launch of a UK-first indoor multi-entertainment and leisure complex.
The final stages of Level are underway, which will be the first entertainment complex of its kind in the UK when it opens this December. The unique and diverse development is the latest and biggest phase of a project led by The Rigby Organisation to completely transform Preston Guild Hall and Charter Theatre, which is based in the city’s Harris Quarter. The investment aims to help make the city centre’s northern quarter a destination for the whole of Lancashire to visit.
Designed by architects Frank Whittle Partnership (FWP), the state-of-the-art multi-million-pound venue will span as much as 1,500 square metres and hold up to 500 people. It will consist of three levels of exciting high-end indoor activities, with a fourth level planned to open in spring 2018. Activities across the three levels include ten-pin bowling, a Preston-themed indoor crazy golf course, a laser quest experience, assault courses, gaming rooms, bars and VIP areas. When it officially opens on 8th December this year, all these elements will make Level an indoor entertainment and leisure complex like no other in the UK.
Joe Fleetwood, Level General Manager, said:
“Our aim was to create the ultimate unique, bespoke, indoor entertainment destination that could cater for all ages. We wanted to include the best and most popular high-end activities around, and allow people to experience them at an affordable price.
“In the way Level brings all these elements together under one roof, there’s nothing else quite like it in the UK at the moment,” he said.
Entrepreneur and Preston Guild Hall owner Simon Rigby, who is behind a regeneration project of Preston’s city centre, has been the driving force of the Level development.
“Level is a £5,000,000 investment in the heart of the new leisure quarter of Preston. Combined with Preston Guild Hall there is something for everyone all under one roof. We believe this cements Preston’s Harris Quarter as a destination for the whole of Lancashire. The investment being made in the area, by both the private sector and Lancashire Country Council, means that Preston is a place we can all be proud of.”
Creating a 24-hour entertainment experience
Customers will be able to enjoy all Level has to offer through the day and night, with it opening from early am until late pm, Monday to Thursday. It will then be open each weekend, from Friday morning right through until midnight on Sunday. There are also plans to set up a DJ booth and hold live music events in the evenings.
“The idea is that people will be able to come and enjoy the different activities during the day and then stay to listen to some live music at night. There’s the potential to do so much at the venue. Plans are also in place to add a fourth level, which will be home to another adventure experience that we hope to open in spring next year.”
Top-tier attractions to excite and entertain
The range of exciting indoor entertainment and leisure activities at Level, include:
Level 1 – The venue’s basement level is home to End of Days, an exciting laser quest experience, and a unique 12-hole indoor crazy golf course. The course will be themed around Preston’s landmarks, and will even have a section dedicated to the city’s famous cricketer, Freddie Flintoff. It will also boast a huge bar area, a retro games arcade, and two private party and karaoke rooms.
- Level 2 – The ground level is where people will enter the complex. It will boast Odin’s Bowl, an eight-lane bowling alley, and a large sports bar where customers can watch the world’s biggest televised sports events on a giant video wall. This level is also home to Spare Room, a VIP area with two private lanes, where customers can enjoy VIP hospitality and plug in their smart phone to enjoy their own music. There’s also Mundo Street Kitchen, where customers can enjoy a selection of foods, and Pointer and Co, a state-of-the-art gaming area, which will include darts boards and shuttle boards.
- Level 3 – The star attraction of this floor is Daredevil, two challenging assault courses, similar to TV’s Ninja Warrior UK – one for beginners and the other to test the more experienced fitness fanatics. This level will also have a children’s soft play area for those too young to try out the assault courses.
Level has been designed by FWP architects and The Rigby Organisation team, with Preston Guild Hall’s in-house Construction Manager Gordon Ashworth leading the construction. The venue is scheduled for a soft opening on 1st December, with a grand opening planned for 8th December 2017.
“Bookings are now being taken and soon people will be able to experience all Level has to offer. This is a very exciting time for the Guild Hall and for Preston too.”
