Join us for a packed summer of fun, family events at Moor Park.

From the colourful carnival  and bug boxes to heritage days and circus shows!

Sunday 25 June

Caribbean Carnival, 12noon - 6pm

A day not to be missed! Enjoy and be part of the colourful spectacle of Preston's annual carnival.

*Please note: No alcohol to be brought onto the park for this event

Thursday 29 June

Total Solar Eclipse anniversary talk at the Observatory, from 10am

Preston and District Astronomical Society will be celebrating the 90th anniversary of the 1927 total solar eclipse.

Representatives from the Lancashire Science Festival are providing a display and talk about the opening of the Observatory on the park in time for the 1927 Solar Eclipse.

Five talks throughout the day, but due to limited numbers, booking is essential. Details are on the Total Solar Eclipse talk event page.

Saturday 1 & Sunday 2 July

Rockprest, from 11am

Rockprest is now in it’s third year and Moor Park in Preston is the perfect setting for an amazing two day festival!

Over 40 live rock tribute acts over three stages, plus a funfair and refreshment stalls, all for the price of the booking fee.

Saturday 15 July

Observatory open afternoon & Heritage Walk, 1pm-3pm

As part of Love Parks Week, join us for this FREE guided tour of Moor Park looking at the rich history and heritage of the site, and the current restoration project.

It is also hoped the tour will include a look inside the recently refurbished Observatory.

Meet at the Bowling Pavilion.

Tuesday 25 July

Bug Boxes for Creepy, Crawly Things, 1pm-3pm

Come and join the first of our wildlife safari hunts and learn about creepy crawlies on the Park. You can then make them a home to take with you to put in your own garden.

Advance booking essential as places limited to 12, call 01772 906471.

Charge of £2.50 per box. Meet at the Bowling Pavilion.

Sunday 13 August

Community Family Fun Day, 1pm-4pm

A great FREE* afternoon out for the family.

Lots of sports and great activities to try, including:

  •  bouncy castles
  • mobile climbing wall
  • face painting
  • arts & crafts 

 ... plus lots of other fun. Held between the main play area and the Football Pavilion.

* Charges may apply for refreshments.

Saturday 16 September

Circus Starr, 2pm & 5pm

Circus Starr is a touring circus boasting world-class, professional artists from across the globe.

It was first founded in 1987 and provides free seats for thousands of disadvantaged, disabled or vulnerable children, whilst helping to raise much needed funds for local charities.

Moor Park, Preston is one of 75 venues on its tour, hosted three times a year.
