Serine Sounds of Lullabies Inspired by South Asia.
Yaadein, Memories is a contemporary pilot exploration of night-time sounds shared by South Asian communities from across Preston and the North West of England, interspersed with lullabies from the Indian Sub Continent.
Sound artist, Duncan Chapman, is working with a collection of night sounds from different parts of the globe, including Preston. He's creating a unique soundscape and experimenting with lumisonic software. The soundscape forms the perfect complement for the soothing Indian lullabies explored by vocalist Supriya Nagarajan.
Guest artists will bring unique traditional instruments to life to make this a truly special sensory experience.
“I believe that Lullabies have the power to calm and soothe, reaching into the deepest emotional areas of the human brain and I plan to explore that belief over the next few years.” Supriya Nagarajan – Manasamitra Artistic Director.
