Eric Random/ Gagarin/ Polypores
Eric Random is a key figure on the experimental, post punk, Manchester music scene. He began by forming the rather short lived, now legendary, Tiller Boys. In the early eighties, working under the name Eric Random, he received recognition for a number of album and single releases of his own and for numerous collaborations with the likes of 'Cabaret Voltaire' and with Nico of the 'Velvet Underground'.
Gagarin creates instrumental electronica that doesn’t adhere to or belong in any particular scene or style. Currently he is a member of experimental rock legends 'Pere Ubu' and 'Roshi ft. Pars Radio'.
Polypores makes haunted space music, using an ever-expanding mound of synthesizers, samplers, and old tape recorders. Polypores has had sold-out vinyl, cassette, and CD releases on labels such as 'Polytechnic Youth', 'Concréte Tapes', and 'A Year In The Country'. His new album 'The Impossibility' was released on Polytechnic Youth Records in November 2017.
The Continental, South Meadow Lane, Preston, PR1 8JP.
