Flag Market and Harris Summer Saturdays

Join us for activities, performances, street theatre, music and dance

There's a variety of entertainment to look forward to this Summer, taking place every Saturday on the Flag Market and in the Harris.

It all kicks off with Harris Live Outdoors on Friday 1 June. See the Renegade Brass Band (plus support) from the Harris Balcony for free!

*Summer Saturdays are supported by Blog Preston.

Caribbean Carnival King & Queen Competition

Saturday 2 June, 12:30pm-4pm

Who will be this year's King and Queen? Each year, the Preston Caribbean Carnival procession is led by one King and one Queen. See who the winners are for 2018.

Making a Mark

Saturday 9 June, 12pm-4pm

Unleash your creative side and make your mark... Head to the Harris and the Flag Market where you will discover lots to see, do and take away with you.

Preston People's Festival

Saturday 16 June, 10am-8pm

Preston People's Festival is taking over the city centre, inviting as many people as possible to dress in costume from the turn of the 20th century.

Comic Heroes Day

Saturday 23 June, 12pm-4pm

Love Comics? This is your chance to enjoy an eclectic mix of original comic art that will impress and inspire most comic fans.

Don't forget your sharpies...Artists will have a chance to draw and create unique pieces of art on boards dotted around the Flag Market. There will also be lots of stalls jam-packed with comic goodies.

Everyone is welcome at this event, whether you're in costume or not.

Armed Forces Day

Saturday 30 June, 11am-5pm

Celebrate the city's serving soldiers, their families and Preston's connection with the armed forces.

Youth Music Festival

Saturday 7 July, 12pm-4pm

This event will be a fabulous youth-led music festival on the Flag Market.

Preston Mela

Saturday 14 July, 12pm-4pm

A vibrant celebration of South Asian culture. Dance and entertainment from around the world will take place, alongside a strong community element featuring performances from local musicians and dance groups.
