Friday 21 September

Friday's exciting programme sees an impressive kick-start to the Lancashire Encounter weekend. Whatever your age, whatever your interest, there's something for everyone to look forward to.

Whether you're in to theatrical performances, music or literature, the festival has a fantastic selection of events to tempt you with. For those who like to get hands-on, there will be interactive instalments on the Flag Market where both kids and adults can explore their love of gaming and virtual reality.

You'll also find the opportunity to be part of a Lancashire-themed piece of art, which will ultimately be made into a series of contemporary sleeve bands, inspired by the Chinese Embroidered sleeve bands in The Harris costume and textiles collection.

Saturday 22 September

Clear your schedule, Saturday is bursting with all kinds of performances, workshops and other exciting events.

There will be many opportunities for creative folk to join in with creating art, or others to enjoy watching the fascinating processes this year's artists go through. There will also be Lancashire-themed films, musical performances and quirky installations.

Celebrating the diversity of the County, The Harris will also play host to a wide variety of South Asian arts. Here you can get yourself a beautiful Henna tattoo, watch traditional Turkish art being created or take place in a dance workshop.

Keep the whole day free, there's plenty to explore.

Sunday 23 September

The fun doesn't stop on the Sunday. The festival will go out with a bang, with a top dance performance, a theatre performance by Preston Youth Theatre and a 'red parade', a parade dedicated to the red of the Lancashire rose.

Make sure not to miss all that Sunday has to offer, join in and celebrate in true Lancastrian style.
