About Markets Quarter
The Markets Quarter development will revitalise Preston Markets, deliver a ‘game-changing’ cinema and restaurant complex and bring both the stunning listed former Post Office and Amounderness House back into regular use.
The Markets are a key part of the city’s culture and heritage and are very important to Preston. This ambitious project is at the heart of city centre regeneration with Preston City Council committed to significant investment to provide a new, successful market.
The new Market Hall, currently under construction, is a modern glass and timber-clad pavilion style building designed to complement the larger listed Victorian market canopy its located under. The remainder of space beneath the canopy will continue to operate as an outdoor market during the day and flexible event and performance space in the evening.

Old Post Office Building
Signature Living will transform the former post office building into a new boutique hotel. Overlooking the Flag Market and Harris, once complete this luxury hotel will include a restaurant and bar, spa and pool as well as a function room. Due for completion in 2018, the hotel will further enhance this area of Preston City Centre.
