Preston Guild City

Historic walk

Preston Cemetery will welcome visitors for a guided tour around the interesting graves and headstones of famous people from Preston’s past on Sunday 12 October.

The cemetery gates will open at 8.00am with walks occurring at 11.00am, 12.00pm and 1.00pm. The guided walks will take place in the cemetery grounds as the nature changes into autumn colours, making the setting even more beautiful.

Deputy Leader of Preston City Council, Councillor John Swindell, said

“These guided walks have been very popular in the past, as the event is unique and there is always as hint of mystery about the cemetery.

“The cemetery contains some really interesting headstones, so I urge people to come along to this free event and learn about Preston’s past and take in the cemetery’s tranquil beauty.”
