How to upload an event to the Preston Guild City website.
Event upload guidelines
This function will enable organisations to upload events and activities in Preston and the surrounding areas.
To ensure people find quality information please make sure you fill in all fields where possible. Where a field is marked with an asterisk(*) this must be completed otherwise your event will not be submitted.
Events should be located approximately within a 5 mile radius of Preston City Centre. The postcode PR1 2RL can be used as a guide to give an indication of the distance of your event from the city centre. Events sitting outside this area will be considered on an individual basis.
Ensure you put as much information as possible about your event without repetition. Copy should engage and entice people to come to your event. A summary sentence isn’t enough, around 2 to 3 paragraphs is recommended. Press releases will not be accepted as copy.
Make sure you upload a good quality image to represent your event. Please don’t use posters as they don’t fit the dimensions and duplicate information.
Dimensions: Landscape 700 x 345 pixels
What events are acceptable?
Any event deemed inappropriate or unsuitable will not be approved.
Acceptable events include but aren’t restricted to:
- art exhibitions
- charity events
Unacceptable events include but aren’t restricted to:
- car boot sales/jumble sales
- static activities such as play centres
What happens once I have submitted my event?
Once your event has been submitted it will enter an approval process. We aim to add your event as soon as possible but during busy periods this could take up to 5 working days. Please bear this in mind and submit your event as soon as possible, this will also give your event more exposure the sooner it is uploaded.
