Make summer 2019 one to remember...

With summer just around the corner, it's time to take a peek at things to do in Preston. On top of exciting activities and outdoor adventures, there are all kinds of events suitable for adults, kids, and families.

See what takes your fancy out of the exciting line-up of festivals, fetes, markets, and more, taking place between June and September.

Caribbean Carnival 2019

Preston's annual Caribbean Carnival is back Sunday 23 June. The largest and longest running celebration of culture in the city begins with a procession from Moor Park, down Deepdale Road, around the Deepdale area, and back to Moor Park Avenue. The procession will be followed with an array of entertainment and food suitable for the whole family.

Preston Jazz & Improvisation Festival

Thursday 30 May - Saturday 8 June, £0 - £12.50

With a brilliant blend of both local and international musical talent, the Preston Jazz & Improv Festival provides ten days of entertainment for avid jazz fans.

Preston Rocks & Prestfest

Saturday 22 June, £0 +

Clear your calendar for this full day of entertainment on the Flag Market. Kicking off with a fashion show presented by Mark Wright and followed by an evening of live music, you won't be disappointed.

Lancashire Science Festival

Interested in science? Whether you're young or old, the Lancashire Science Festival is a free and rewarding day out for those interested in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and more.

Saturday 29 June - Sunday 30 June, Free (booking fee applies)

Don't miss the UK's biggest rock tribute festival. The impressive line-up of tribute acts, alongside fairground rides and food and beer stalls, will have you rockin' all weekend.

Hopfest 2019

Friday 5 July - Sunday 7 July, £4 - £6

Enjoy a weekend of great beer, gin, Prosecco, and music at the annual Hopfest. The annual festival is also a hotspot for networking and will include tasty food and a fancy dress touch Rugby.

The Continental Beer & Cider Festival

The highly anticipated Continental Beer & Cider Festival returns for 2019 with an extensive mouth-watering selection of drinks and food by the river.

The Lancashire Festival

A great summer day out for the whole family, the Lancashire Festival will see Avenham & Miller Parks packed with live music, entertainment, food and drink stalls, fairground rides, and more.

Youth Music Festival

Head to Preston Flag Market to catch some of the region's most talented young musicians performing for the crowds throughout the day.

Fetes and Markets

With the warmer weather upon us, why not treat yourself to some new plants for your garden. The Avenham & Miller Park plant stall will be selling a variety of plants throughout June.

Makers Market

Whether for a browse or a shop, head to Preston's Flag Market for some fabulous local produce, including a variety of edible goodies and gifts. The Makers Market takes place on the second Saturday of every month.

Masa Record Fair

Perfect for die hard music fans, the Masa Record fair takes place in both June and August. Make sure to pay the stalls a visit at the Box Market and pick up some records, tapes, CDs, and all things music related.

Taking place at three venues over the day - Preston Markets, the Harris Museum, and the Flag Market - Preston Pulse will feature food, fun, and facts as well as stalls celebrating the city's culture.
