High-spirited soft play
Fun and lively, Preston's array of soft play centres are the perfect entertainment choice. Near the city centre you'll discover Mini's Play Centre for a classic soft play experience, alongside entertainment from the play centre's mascot "Mini Magee". Outside the city centre you'll also find one of the North West's biggest play centres, Giddy Kids, as well as Rascals at the Capitol Centre Retail Park. Also not far from the Capitol Centre Retail Park, Monkey Magic has a vibrant soft play area and fun themed party rooms. All these soft play centres provide a space for grown ups to relax with a cup of tea, a safe environment to play in and facilities for children's parties.
Energetic fun with a twist
There are plenty activities in and around the city centre for those little ones full of juice. For something a little out of the ordinary, Clip n Climb Preston offers a soft play area, alongside fun and fresh toddler climbing sessions.
Another great choice for lively little ones is bounce around at Energi Trampoline Park or Flip Out Trampoline Park. And, for more bouncing fun, there's also Wacky World where under 5's can explore an inflatable adventure park.
Spark some creativity
For hands-on kids there's the chance to fire up their creativity at Fired 4 U. Fired 4 U delivers craft sessions and pottery painting, all mixed with story time and songs for a truly engaging experience.

Meet some furry friends
If you're looking to get up close and personal with all kinds of animals and exotic creatures, there are many opportunities in and around Preston. From birds of prey displays at Turbary Woods to hand feeding animals at Bowland Wild Boar Park, there's a lot to get the kids (and your inner kid) excited over.
There are even more opportunities to meet all kinds of creatures at Ribby Hall's Wild Discovery and even a chance for the little ones to have a good play on toy tractors at Smithy Farm Shop, not forgetting Old Holly Farm, for an all-rounded day of animals, soft play and good food.
Discover the great outdoors
There are many magnificent choices to burn off some energy whilst enjoying some fresh air.
Preston's choice of nature reserves make a great stomp around for everyone. For a variety of walks and fun discoveries, not to mention an outdoor play area, Brockholes Nature Reserve lends itself to a diverse day out; there's even quaint shops and a café for the grown ups to enjoy.
Another popular choice is Haslam Park. The park boasts wildflower meadows, ponds to feed the ducks, an outdoor play area and many other things to see and do.
Parks and gardens
Preston's many beautiful parks and gardens also hold nature and play areas to be discovered. Avenham and Miller Parks, in particular, offer outdoor play areas, large open spaces for games, multiple picturesque walks, the perfect picnic spots and a lovely café with kid's lunches.
Also flaunting lots of open space to run around is Moor Park. The park lends itself to a great day out, with an outdoor children's play area to entertain and many paths to explore.
For curious minds that like to explore, there's the Preston Spy Mission Trail, fun and engaging for both little and big brains.
You'll also find regular navigational challenges held by Xplorer. These events are a great way to have fun as a family and get their minds racing.
Equally good for a stomp is Beacon Fell, where there are lots of sculptures to discover and many adventures to be had. With many different paths and dense woodland, Beacon Fell Country Park is the perfect place to let their imaginations run wild.
Indoor boredom busters
If you're looking for some indoor entertainment then look no further.
Preston boasts a great choice of venues to enjoy some classic Ten-pin bowling, including the family-friendly MFA Bowl, as well as special toddler film screenings at the city's Vue Cinema and Odeon Cinema.
For something a little different, there's also the option to ride a steam train and enjoy all things train at Ribble Steam Railway. There are also regular exhibitions, hands-on activities and kids events at The Harris Museum & Art Gallery and South Ribble Art Gallery & Museum.
Preston's Space Centre provides multi-sensory experiences for children with special needs. Their three multi-sensory rooms and flexible environments can cater for children with a wide range of disabilities, including Cerebral Palsy, Autism and brain injuries.
