Records of War
Records of War on the stairs of The Harris...
This exhibition is comprised of First World War prints by official war artist, Muirhead Bone, and beautifully composed photographs taken by Preston's Town Clerk, Alfred Howarth.
Together these pieces form a poignant record of the sacrifices made on the battlefields of Northern France and at home in Preston.
You will find Muirhead Bone's prints along the museum's staircase as well as Edward Handley-Read's watercolour and charcoal paintings in the fine art gallery. These paintings are a reminder of the destruction and human suffering caused by WWI.
Records of War is open at The Harris between October 2018 - January 2019. Entry for this exhibition is free.
